473. When summer opens, I see how fast it matures, and I hope it will not be too feverish; but after the heats of July and August, I am reconciled, like one who has had his swing, to September and the coming of autumn. ~Edited and adapted quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson

August, with its masses of spent blooms,
August, with its humidity and cloudless skies,
August, with days too hot to relish,
August, torrid and dry in the blazing sun,
August.

And the locusts in brazen chorus, cry
Like stricken things, and the ring-dove’s note
Sobs on in the distance rim.
~Excerpt from a poem by Hamlin Garland

I(God) cared for you in the wilderness, in the land of the burning heat. ~Hosea 13:5   ✝

Thank you, Lord, that the seasons are ever-changing and that you always care for us!

      • Oh, now I’m all a quiver LMS. 🙂 yes everything is going okay here, spring has raised its head and we have gale forced winds. Lovely. Hope all is well with you. A large amount of sweaty hugs back at you.
        Cheers

      • You so often make me laugh out loud and I thank you for that, Herr Herb! I’m so glad all is well with you. The gale force winds don’t sound good and I hope they don’t do any damage to your abode. Things are okay here except for the blasted heat that I’m sick to death of. Have a good week, Laurence. Cheers and hugs, hugs, hugs. LMS

      • I still have the knack then Natalie. 🙂 Yes I’m okay but the winds are still blowing, there’s a low off the coast and it’s generating some big winds. The Roos are standing on each other’s tails so they don’t blow away. 😉 The old abode is still here, it should be it’s made of solid besser blocks. I’ll swap weather with you.
        Love and Hugs LMS.
        Cheers
        Laurence.

      • I wish I could box all this heat up then and send it all over there because I’ve had my fill of it for sure. I’m glad the winds haven’t huffed and puffed and blow you away, Mr. Still has the Knack! Love and hugs, LMS

      • The huffing and puffing has subsided Natalie. I don’t know if I still have the knack or I’m just knackered (pooped)
        Hugs and Love LMS.
        Cheers
        Laurence.
