530. If you look deep enough you will see music; the heart of nature being everywhere music. ~Thomas Carlyle

There is pleasure in the pathless woods,
there is rapture in the lonely shore,
there is society where none intrudes,
by the deep sea, and music in its roar;
I love not Man the less, but Nature more.
~Lord Byron

Morning has broken
Like the first morning,
Black bird has spoken
Like the first bird.
Praise for the singing!
Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing
Fresh from the Word!

Sweet the rainā€™s new fall
Sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall
On the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness
Of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness
Where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight!
Mine is the morning.
Born of the one light
Eden saw play!
Praise with elation,
Praise evā€™ry morning,
Godā€™s recreation
Of the new day!

~Hymn written by Eleanor Farjeon

Because of the Lordā€™s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness. ~Lamentations 3:22-23 Ā  āœ

  1. Love the image—it is something I would love to have painted back in my artsy days—and love, of course, the hymn—as you and I do seem to fly along the same path šŸ˜‰
Blessings Natalie on this Monday—I’ve off to reclaim my birds—more about that later šŸ™‚
    love to you—cookie

    • It’s so typical of rural Texas and would indeed make a great painting. I hope you have fun “reclaiming your birds.” I can’t wait to hear that story. Happy and blessed Monday to you too. Love, N šŸ™‚ ā¤

    • Oh, I’m so glad! I hate it when I’m lost in the cosmos! And I would be ever so sad if you weren’t somewhere out there at the end of a rainbow so to speak. Thanks so much for the tweets today! Passez une bonne soirĆ©e et beaucoup d’amour Ć  vous aussi, FrĆ©dĆ©ric. ā¤ ā¤ ā¤ ā¤

  2. Your photograph here is lovely, and I did enjoy Byron when young. I suspect he was a far more social animal than these (possibly early?) lines suggest, but thank you so much, Natalie, for reminding me of him, and for inviting me back to your blog. I shall enjoy the photos, and the secular quotations, and try not to be too much an infidel thorn in your side! šŸ˜€

    • Yes, it is another Pinterest find but it is very typical of scenes all over the state of Texas and that’s why I chose it. I first knew this song as a hymn and remembered it when Cat Stevens recorded it way back there. I hope you had a good weekend too. I have been getting out in my yard a lot lately and that always makes for a lovely day. Hugs, N ā¤
