Pleasure is spread through the earth
In stray gifts to be claimed by whoever shall find.
~William Wordsworth
Lingering in Happiness
After rain after many days without rain,
it stays cool, private and cleansed, under the trees,
and the dampness there, married now to gravity,
falls branch to branch, leaf to leaf, down to the ground
where it will disappear – but not, of course, vanish
except to our eyes. The roots of the oaks will have their share,
and the white threads of the grasses, and the cushion of moss;
a few drops, round as pearls, will enter the mole’s tunnel;
and soon so many small stones, buried for a thousand years,
will feel themselves being touched.
~Mary Oliver

Most refreshing—which is such a welcomed balm to holiday overdriven senses—to slow down and to bask in the remnants of a rain. . .ahhhhhhh
much love to you Natalie—

Very beautiful Natalie. I love the idea of trees and roots and growth. There’s a rich meaning hidden in the science of it all. Actually, not just in trees, but in so many things of nature. I have a sneaking suspicion that you already think that too?
So lovely Natalie. And you know I love that photo too. You find such beautiful pics to include.
Hugs and blessings and a very merry Christmas to you, my friend

The orangish glow all over and the sparkling rain droplets lend magic and exhilaration ! Perhaps Mary Oliver was inspired by a similar creation …
