616. Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we often might win, by fearing to attempt. ~William Shakespeare

I’ve always been delighted at the prospect of a new day,
a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic
waiting somewhere behind the morning.

I place on the altar of dawn:
The quiet loyalty of breath,
The tent of thought where I shelter,
Wave of desire I am shore to
And all beauty drawn to the eye.

May my mind come alive today
To the invisible geography
That invites me to new frontiers,
To break the dead shell of yesterdays,
To risk being disturbed and changed.

May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.
~Excerpt from a blessing
by John O’Donohue

In the morning, Lord, you hear m voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly. ~Psalm 5:3   ✝

    • For the most part the pain med is holding the worst pain at bay. Every now and then I have a really bad day, but it’s usually back under control by the next day. Thank you, Gigi, for your concern and for checking on me. I pray all is well with you. Hugs, N ❤

  1. What a powerful message to live by! I especially like the last piece of the poem,

“May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.”

  2. Mister Shakespeare knew very well what he was speaking of. He certainly did have a way with words, and I thank you profusely for reminding me of these very beautiful ones. What a great way to start a day, and I hope your day is going very well. Those days you’re counting down must be getting shorter now, and I imagine your anticipation is rising accordingly. Well we’re still praying and wishing you the best, so just take it easy and the time will be upon you before you even know it. Thanks again for the wonderful words from old William.
