621. Color is a power which directly influences the soul. ~Wassily Kandinsky

In the house of words was a table of colors.
They offered themselves in great fountains,
and each poet took the color he needed:
lemon yellow or sun yellow
ocean blue or smoke blue,
crimson red, blood red, or wine red.
~Eduardo Galeano

There is not one blade of grass,
there is no color in this world
that is not intended to make us rejoice.

Joy is the sweet voice, joy the luminous cloud–
We in ourselves rejoice!
And thence flows all that charms our ear or sight
all melodies the echoes of that voice,
all colours a suffusion from that light.
~Samuel Taylor Coleridge

In the picture, color creates the light.

Color! Ah, the fabulous, mystic realm of color! Just look at these flowers I photographed in my greenhouse yesterday! What a sacred voice is the song of their colors! It never fails to wow me over and over again! Even in the low-light of a cold, grey, rainy winter’s day, color declares and praises God’s holy name! Thus, may it ever draw us near Him.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people; praise His holy name. ~ Psalm 30: 4   ✝

    • Thanks, Wendy. It is like have a piece of Eden in the winter. I’ve come in bubbling the last couple of days about how much I love my greenhouse. I never thought I’d have one and was thrilled when my son-in-law offered to build me one several years ago. Have a great weekend, missy! Hugs, N ❤

  3. You are doing more than dabbling in artistic endeavors now with this blog. The way you pull meaningful words and photos together into such a beautiful tapestry is fine art as far as I’m concerned. The darkness makes the colors even more alive here.

    • Awwww, how sweet of you, JoAnne. I guess it’s like anything else, the more you do a thing the better you get at doing it. It was a dark, cloudy day when I took those pictures and I loved that the low light created such a dark background. It really made the spectacular colors even more spectacular. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

  4. I just lost myself in the brilliant colors and the wonderful quotes. And then the gentle softness of your greenhouse photo set the whole gallery in perfect balance. The angels are smiling tonight. 🙂
