628. Nature is a revelation of God. ~Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

I love to think of nature
as an unlimited broadcasting station,
through which God speaks to us  every hour,
if we will only tune in.

The child whispered, “God, speak to me”
And a meadowlark sang.
The child did not hear.

So the child yelled, “God, speak to me!”
And the thunder rolled across the sky
But the child did not listen.

The child looked around and said,
“God let me see you” and a star shone brightly
But the child did not notice.

And the child shouted, “God show me a miracle!”
And a life was born
But the child did not know.

So the child cried out in despair,
“Touch me God, and let me know you are here!”
Where upon God reached down
And touched the child.

But the child brushed the butterfly away
And walked away unknowingly.

      • N, I’m sorry to hear your pain is high, I’ll keep you in my prayers. With my lack of memory I can’t remember who says it’s okay and who doesn’t like re-blogs, so leaning on the side of safety I always ask, grin. Thank you for permission. Huge hugs

  1. I love the bird—he’s hollering out “hey kid, here I am!” Oh that the child which resides in each of us, would / could let the scales fall from our eyes to see and marvel in the splendor—A beautiful observation Natalie—I am humbled—hugs and love—little cookie

    • Thanks, missy. I love that bird too. He looks likes he singing his little chubby heart out, doesn’t he?! Yeppers, and I still miss signs because my focus is off him and only some silly little pursuit of my own making. Hugs and love to you as well. ❤

  2. Those are exactly the kind of reminders that I am always glad to get, so I thank you very much Natalie. I am sorry you are having a bad day, and I wish there was something more I could do for you. Mostly I wish I could just take your pain for a day or two to let you have a real break, but of course, I can’t. I will keep praying, and hope tomorrow brings you some sunshine, and the sunshine brings with it some blessed relief. God bless.
