703. Well-apparel’d April on the heel of limping Winter treads. ~William Shakespeare

…Thus in each flower and simple bell,
That in our path untrodden lie,
Are sweet remembrancers who tell
How fast the winged moments fly.
Time will steal on with ceaseless pace,
Yet lose we not the fleeting hours,
Who still their fairy footsteps trace,
As light they dance among the flowers.

First there came yellow,
soft and dotted, next to buds
on a pretty rose

Then appeared a pink
hibiscus with emboldened
stamen and pollen

Next a huge orange
rose with a touch of pink in
her heart’s center

At last there was a
wee rose who bore all shades
amid glossy green

  1. So pretty indeed. Spring doesn’t seem to be limping now around here. The trees are well leafed out and soon will be able to put seeds and bulbs in the ground. Love, V

    • Well it was limping too much here either until the last week or so. I’ve been colder in the house today than I was all winter. Oh I’m so glad you’ll be able to put some things out soon. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

    • I love that soft yellow one too, but then like you that last little “salsa” one was perky and cute! Oh I love the name of that town. I hope I can go there one day.
I’ve been working on our trip to Paris and beyond today. I know you must be getting excited about your upcoming trip to the Emerald Isle too. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

      • 🙂 Actually, I was going to take a photo of this one rose that was all by itself. Today when I walked past that area, I was so disappointed to notice it was no longer there. One of the kids here picked it and gave it to his mom. 😦
Anyhow, there’s another cluster here that I want to take a photo of.
        🙂 ❤
