I saw old Autumn in the misty morn
stand
shadowless like silence, listening to silence.
~Thomas Hood
Fall Song
Another year gone, leaving everywhere
its rich spiced residues: vines, leaves,
the uneaten fruits crumbling damply
in the shadows, unmattering back
from the particular island
of this summer, this NOW, that now is nowhere
except underfoot, moldering
in that black subterranean castle
of unobservable mysteries – – -roots and sealed seeds
and the wanderings of water. This
I try to remember when time’s measure
painfully chafes, for instance when autumn
flares out at the last, boisterous and like us longing
to stay – – – how everything lives, shifting
from one bright vision to another, forever
in these momentary pastures.
~Mary Oliver
All the kings of the earth sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart. Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift—articles of silver and gold, and robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules. ~2 Chronicles 9:23-24 ✝

Beautiful colors—as I’m finding myself a little sad that “Fall” must make way for the soon to be colors of Christmas…..

Thanks. I love the colors of autumn so much. At least when the colors of Christmas come it is time to look at the seed catalogs and dream of spring.
Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Golden grapes, orange bittersweet, red apples, fading green leaves with brown curled edges and brown nuts with cerulean blue skies overhead. 🙂 A rainbow of nature with more exciting things to come, Natalie. ♡
