When we pray,
our hearts glow
a glorious joy
that lights our souls
and all the world around us.
~Terri Guillemets
First and foremost, I want to thank those of you who have been praying for me during this time. I so appreciate that and your prayers definitely helped me stay strong and worry very little. My knee replacement surgery was two weeks ago today, and it went very well. I returned home three days later on the following Sunday. I was walking on a walker when I left the hospital and able to get up and down steps. The two weeks of in house rehab started immediately and has also gone well. They told me when I left the hospital I was well ahead of where most folks are after three days, and the PT’s have been repeating the same kudos as they worked with me here. So I’m very pleased with how things are going. This last Sunday, the PT’s took me off the walker and put me on a cane. Then today I went back to the doctor so he could take the staples out and the incision looks good, but I gotta tell you guys that taking those staples out smarted quite a bit! There was some oozing from one of the sights where they pulled out a staple but the fluid was not yet infected. However, just to be on the safe side, they’ve started me on an antibiotic for the next ten days. So now I’m facing 4 weeks (three times a week) of out patient rehab at a local facility. And yes, there is quite a bit of pain involved in the rehab so I still need prayers please, both for the rehab and that the antibiotic stops any chance of infection. I’ve been trying my best to keep up with your blog posts, but some days it’s harder than others to do so. For example, tonight I am very tired and hurting as well so I will not be able to make it through the list this evening. Please bear with me as I do miss reading your entries. It looks as though spring is definitely getting underway here and I sure would like to be out and about, but I shall have to be patient a little longer. Unfortunately patience has never been my strong suit. Oh, well, the Lord is always the unrelenting teacher of lessons He wants us to learn. I pray all is well with all of you and thank you again for all the support. Much love and huge hugs, Natalie

I am so happy to hear that everything went well and that you are doing okay! 2 weeks is not very long. Another lady I know (she is older than you I believe) could not stand even after 4 weeks, so I think you are doing excellent!! I am so proud of you and I know you are so brave and strong you will heal quickly. ❤ Be kind to yourself and pamper yourself little every day, try to make yourself smile as much as you can, that will speed up the healing process 🙂 ❤ I am sending you all my Love and healing light and a whole herd of angels to take care of you and comfort you since I can't do that myself 🙂 ❤ Big hugs to you lovely Natalie! 🙂 ❤

I have been wondering how you are doing! I know it is very painful but I think the fact that you are up and about is wonderful!
Whatever you do don’t forget your pain pills because they make rehab less painful! Also if they have you on one of those continuous motion machines please use it! My mom did not just telling you what I went through with her and I am so happy to know you are strong as ever! I will continue praying for you sweet Natalie! Much love to you and blessings! 😄💗💜

Oh, yes, this would be awful without the pain med. I’m riding my stationary bicycle in addition to all the PT they are doing with me. I pray all is well with you too.

Praise God your on the mend. Glad to see things progressing so well, and that your staying so upbeat despite the obvious pain, especially the grueling rehab. I am praying for you, for a quick and full recovery. My mom had that done, and she is so much better now, she even has fun with the metal detectors, haha.

I am thrilled that you have completed your surgery and working on rehabilitation. I think I told you my friend had her knee replaced, she went through the rather painful and rigorous pt, but is perfect now and so glad she had it done. My prayers are with you that you will suffer little and be back 100percent very soon. Love! ❤

I have also struggled on that patience thing! It seems like God always directs me to the slowest line at the post office and the check takes twice as long to get here in the mail. But in all these things we are more than conquerors Natalie! God will patiently see you through to the end. One day you will look back to this time and the pain will be forgotten! God bless you Natalie…
