Fair nature’s priestesses! to whom,
In hieroglyph of bud and bloom,
Her mysteries are told;
Who wise in lore of wood and mead,
The seasons’ pictured scrolls can read,
In lessons manifold!
~Excerpted lines from a poem by
John Greenleaf Whittier
Azaleas – whitest of white!
White as the drifted snow
Fresh-fallen out of the night,
Before the coming glow.
Tinges the morning light;
When the light is like the snow,
White,
And the silence is like the light:
Light, and silence, and snow, –
All – white!
White as an embodied hush;
A very rapture of white;
A wedlock of silence and light:
White, white as the wonder undefiled
Of Eve just wakened in Paradise;
Nay, white as the angel of a child
That looks into God’s own eyes!
~Excerpted lines from a poem by
Harriet McEwen Kimball
Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil. ~Ecclesiastes 9:8 ✝
**As you can see from the photo my white azaleas, though very, very, white indeed, do have a bit of a pink in their freckles especially as the age.

Oh I can’t wait–mine are just about ready to bloom– looking forward to some more blooming color but boy have I been so happy for the lush green and fulness!!!
Happy blooming weekend—

It will be a couple of weeks for us, but some things are beginning. God is showing his Face everywhere around us, if we only open our eyes and look. As usual, you speak to me again, with your words and photos, and I happily drown in God’s glory. Have a peaceful weekend. Hugs, Angie

That is a lovely poem. I wish they would grow here, but no one I know of or talked too, has been successful getting them to take around here.

Azaleas are so abundant where I live, I have taken them for granted. Thank you for reminding me of how beautiful they are and how blessed I am.

Hmmmmm. I guess they are just not suited to your climate. Their roots are never supposed to dry out, so they require quite a bit of watering. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Believe me LMS they thrive here, they grow in abundance and flourish in my absence. They just don’t grow for me. 😦
hugs.

It may be your climate where you are, Michelle Marie.
They like humidity and their roots are never supposed to go dry so they require quite a bit of watering. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤
