Again they’ve changed without any warning the new post page. We get no word count now, and at first I couldn’t find the second part of the format bar at top under the title. But eventually I came across it by postioning my cursor on the line beneath it and it moved it across to the rest of the options like justifying your text and such. It’s so frustrating when they do things like this. Hugs, Natalie

Yep I just found this out too. UGH! Blessings to you.

Yup, that is really a pain when any site does that.

A royal pain in the a%$ to be sure!! I love feeling like someone else’s guinea pig—gotta love the “powers that be”

It is a royal pain and I see no reason to makes changes after everyone has gotten used to the old one. The one before that last one was the best and now they done it again. So, so, stupid! 😦

Thanks for the heads up Natalie. I shall approach my post editor with caution.

Oh, others may have no problem with it, but for the life of me I don’t know why they changed it after we’d all gotten used to it. 😦

My main blog is still in the old format, and thank God for that. I have some new ones that are the “new” format and hate it. Why do people fix things that ain’t broke? HUGS. A.

Ya know, Angie, if I could answer that question, I’d could make a fortune passing it around. It’s just so stupid! 😦

I have to admit that I only tried the post page once before returning to the old way (on the wp adm home page). It involves a few extra steps, but it’s so much more accessible on my pc screen.

I guess I don’t know how to do that Carol. Oh well, I think I’ve figured this one out now. 🙂

I don’t like it either, quite often it is hard to even find where some feature is hidden after such changes.

I know Inese and I don’t know why they have to do that. They think it makes things easier, but we have to learn it all over again and with no help from them, I might add. So so stupid! 😦

I am too old to teach me new tricks! 😦 I know you are my big sister in Life. I wish you had it easier in your writing on wordpress. Sending you a singular red rose, perfect to smell, gaze at and sense it’s wish for you to find a way through the wordpress “maze!”

Me too, Robin. It’s just so maddening and unnecessary! 😦

I think the change was made to make editing via a handheld device easier.
I just used it to edit a post via my smartphone and it worked much better than the precious version. Trouble is they took away the drop down menu that made linking words in a current post to a previous post. Now one has to find the url for the previous post then insert it. Not happy about that missing feature.
Have yet to use the new version via my computer so I can’t comment on that just yet.

Perhaps, but I hadn’t found it difficult to post on my iPhone. I just got a reply from a WP representative and he gave me some helpful hints about it and how to continue using the old one if one so chooses. I’ll post it in a little while. Blessings, N 🙂 ❤

I got through it. I just wish they would give us some explanation as to what has changed, what’s going to change and when. I don’t like surprises.

Oh, I so agree, Dan. I don’t know why they can’t or won’t do that. I like surprises but not that kind. I’m glad you got through it. Have a great evening. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

I feel your pain, Natalie. I am still using the OLD OLD version of WP Admin to create posts. I really dont like the newer versions at all

I wish I’d know how to do that. I usually get to where I can work with the new ones, but I just don’t understand why they feel compelled to fix what ain’t broke, as they say. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Try this:
View your Blog page
Click My Sites
Click WP Admin
then Click WP Admin again in the window that opens
Click Posts
this should lead you to the OLD WP Admin board.
hopefully 😉

You can still use the very old editing page if you go to “blog posts” (a tab under my sites) and once you see all your posts click “add” on the top. If we want to use this “old” editing version, we always need to go there the same way to edit any post. I use the old one often as the “new” is very difficult with lots of photos.
