1418. And all at once, Summer collapsed into Fall ~Oscar Wilde

Summer lingering in spasms,
She must abdicate with grace.
This is changing of the seasons.
Fall is slipping into place.

the air is different today
the wind sings with a new tone
sighing of changes
coming
the harvest gathered
a flower, a nut
some mead, and bread
a candle and a prayer
returning the fruits
in thanksgiving
to the grove
and receiving
it’s blessing again

He(God) changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning. ~Daniel 2:21  ✝

The unthinkable happened…

The unthinkable happened again today, this time in a small church in Texas. It was yet another act of crude violence carried out in absolute incoherence and in an absurd want of meaning to borrow part of a line by Oscar Wilde. And as always it leaves us heartbroken in its wake. So tonight, I, as are the families who suffered losses in this senseless act of mayhem, struggle for answers and ways to regain our equilibrium. May none of us be shaken in our faith and may we continue to cling to what we know is true, what is tried, and what is indestructible, the Lord God Almighty. Please pray for the families torn by this heinous attack and for the world at large for peace can only come if and when we come together as one and let peace begin with each and every one of us in our daily comings and goings.

My silence is…

just another word for my pain. Some of you know that I cope with three areas of chronic pain and today was one of the unlucky days when all three “worlds collided.” My pain issues aren’t who I am but especially when  in collusion they can control what I can and cannot do at times. And so tonight know that I’ve fought the good fight but I’m weary and can no longer do anything about blogs or other things I love. But I can pray that all of you are well and wish you a good night’s rest. I hope to be back with you tomorrow. Love, Natalie
