Why I Wake Early

Hello, sun in my face.
Hello, you who make the morning
and spread it over the fields
and into the faces of the tulips
and the nodding morning glories,
and into the windows of, even, the
miserable and crotchety–

best preacher that ever was,
dear star, that just happens
to be where you are in the universe
to keep us from ever-darkness,
to ease us with warm touching,
to hold us in the great hands of light–
good morning, good morning, good morning.

Watch, now, how I start the day
in happiness, in kindness.

~Mary Oliver

Let everything that has breath praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6   ✝

Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you save, you heal, you restore, and you reveal Your Father’s heart to us! May I dwell in Your holy presence and praise Your name for all that you have given and done.

    • Oh, I wish it were, but you know I’m just as happy writing for my blog. But should a book ever become a reality, I’d be honored for you to have the first copy of the press. Hugs and love, my sweet friend. N 🙂

  1. I realize this is an older post but I love your morning glory flower blossoms. Thank God for your really open heart and how you show your faith is amazing, Natalie. I will hope to emulate how you praise and worship our Lord. 🙂
