All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
~J.R.R. Tolkien
Deep in the ground
Far beneath my feet
My mother’s lifetime ago
A seed, a root, a tree began to grow.
Buried in the soil
It once lay alone,
Till the seeds, the root, the tree began to show.
Deep in the ground
Far beneath my feet.
A root became a tree.
~Caitlynn Rose
Every tree in the forest has a story to tell. ~Israelmore Ayivor
Life rises in the roots, and leaves. ~John Piller
It was majestic in beauty, with its spreading boughs, for its roots went down to abundant waters. ~Ezekiel 31:7 ✝

This is awesome Natalie. I reminds me a little of the most recent class I did with the mixed media. I don’t know if you saw my most recent post, but it’s also about trees and roots. My inspiration was more the need for the sun for it’s growth, nourishment and strength though, so that’s what the poem is based on.
This is a great pic. I think I’ll use it as inspiration for some type of mixed media in the future.
Thanks Natalie.
Hugs and blessings.

Awwww, thanks Natalie. I just finished another one. I’ve decided to use one of my songs on it, because I thought it was fitting for the piece.
Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. As for me, busy, busy, busy. The kids just go out of school for the year.
Blessings and hugs.

I do so love the trees—a lovely tribute–I like to think trees and their limbs are the bones and undercarriage of Mother Nature merely exposed this time of year—

Thank you, Cookie. I love trees too and somehow in winter I feel safe and think of them as protecting sentinels around me and our property. I love your description of them as the bones and undercarriage of Mother Nature. Indeed that’s what they are. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤
