598. The merry year is born like the bright berry from the naked thorn. ~Hartley Coleridge

Every man should be born again
on the first of January.
Start with a fresh page.
…on the first of January let
every man gird himself once more,
with his face to the front,
and take interest in the things that are to be,
and not in things that were in the past.

May your world always be blessed
with plentitude and enduring joys.
In your heart, may there be love;
In your soul, may there be peace;
In your mind may there be serenity.
May you never be lacking enough.
May your home be a sanctuary
wherein you feel the presence of the Lord.
On rainy or troubling days
may there be rainbows, physical or spiritual,
to gladden your eyes and heart.
On starry, moonlit nights, may the orbs of heaven
and the “echoes of the spheres” speak to you
of the Holy One and His goodness and mercy.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17   ✝
