Earth Teach Me to Remember
Earth teach me stillness
as the grasses are stilled with light.
Earth teach me suffering
as old stones suffer with memory.
Earth teach me humility
as blossoms are humble with beginning.
Earth teach me caring
as the mother who secures her young.
Earth teach me courage
as the tree which stands alone.
Earth teach me limitation
as the ant which crawls on the ground.
Earth teach me freedom
as the eagle which soars in the sky.
Earth teach me resignation
as the leaves which die in the fall.

There is nothing quite like witnessing the very breath of the Earth in months such as March–when every sort of emotion is summoned up from her very core–a maddening mix and collision of tumultuous warm and cold fronts each vying for dominance—and it is to our Native American brothers and sisters who were so keen to see it all for the raw beauty it is and thankfully continue reminding us—Hugs Natalie on this tumultuous day—wind swept peach

  4. What they all said Natalie. The prayers of our Native Americans have always moved me, because they came from a deep understanding of how we should be thankful for this earth and all God has put on it for us. If we had only listened….My prayers are with you Natalie. Much love, Angie
