Spring has returned.
The Earth is like a child
that knows poems
by heart.
~Ranier Maria Rilke
The cycle of nature—the progress from seed to fruition
to dying-off and then renewal in the spring—
was mirrored in the wild fields and the cultivated garden alike,
while the fragility of harvest—the possible interruption of
the cycle by drought, wind, or other natural calamities—
established the pattern of how humans understood
the workings of the cosmos. The oldest of surviving
sacred stories have their roots in the garden
and reflect how humanity sought to understand
the changeable patterns of their world and, at the same time,
to imagine a world no longer subject to change.
~Peg Streep
See! The winter is past…flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is hear in our land. ~Song of Songs 2:11-12 ✝

Wow, I have to agree with ‘Moore to ponder’. That is a great quote. Also, have you ever heard of Heather Clark? She has a whole CD with songs from ‘Songs of Solomon’, including your choice of a closing scripture in this one. I sang one of her SofS at my wedding too.

No I don’t know her but will look into her. The Song of Solomon is one of my favorite chapters in Scripture and I’d love to hear her songs. As to last night’s question about my pain. Yes there has been quite a bit of pain with this and still is, but the meds are keeping in fairly well in control. Thanks for asking. I pray all is well with you! Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

A friend of mine gave me her CD ‘Dark and yet Lovely’ right before I moved to Brazil. It’s a great CD and her voice is different. Check out an example of the songs here: http://www.amazon.com/Dark-Yet-Lovely-Heather-Clark/dp/B000067A49. My hubby loves this CD. I sang the second song on it during our wedding.
I’m so sorry to hear of your pain Natalie. I hope and pray that it goes away and that you start to feel much better. I guess it was just day surgery eh?

Bless your heart. I know you must be exhausted not only physically but emotionally as well. I’m glad you found some soothing comfort in my post. And I pray soon that the clouds will vanish and spring, splendid, splendid, spring will be all around you in its glorious array and that that washes the ugliness of the past week away. Hugs and love, N 🙂 ❤ ❤ ❤
