Robins Return

Mike and Christy's avatarnature has no boss

There is no doubt spring is here when you are awoken at 5:00am by a chorus of Robins singing outside your bedroom window. It is a wonderful sound, unless of course you were planning to sleep in that day or by chance you get a Robin who can’t sing so sweet and decides your chimney is the place to be, as we did a few years ago.

  1. Oh how sweet. The Robins are here now but remember one Christmas when first married. We had a crow come out of the chimney and land in the tree we had just put up that evening. Love, V

      • I had an American robin nesting on the ledge of my patio the entire winter, at least four months, he was so adorable. He has flown away, hopefully not falling prey to my neighbors cat who was quite interested in him.

      • Oh how fun, Holly. In the past I’ve had several who actually built nests in places in my yard and one summer, I’d go out with some raisins and call Robby, Robby, Robin and he/she would come as I through them down on the ground for them to eat. 🙂

      • Oh, I would love that! I had to ever so gingerly go out on the patio at night , afraid to even turn on the light for fear of frightening him away. I laughed because many week-ends he would not come but show up again on Sunday night. 🙂
