Beauty is the adjustment of all parts
proportionately so that one cannot add
or subtract or change without
impairing
the harmony of the whole.
~Leon B. Alberti
To conquer a piece of earth and make it as beautiful
as one can dream of it being: That is art, too.
A man cannot be separated from the earth.
I come out of the garden every day feeling,
oh, inspired in a way that one needs
in order to convert the daily-ness of the life
into something greater than that little life itself.
~Stanley Kunitz
Nothing is more the child
of art than a garden.
~Sir Walter Scott
But who can paint
like Nature?
Can imagination boast,
amid its gay creation,
hues like hers?
~James Thomson
Nature is painting for us,
day after day,
pictures of infinite beauty.

If you ask me what I came
to do in this world,
I, an artist, will answer you:
I am here to live out loud.
~Emile Zola
My garden is the canvas
upon which nature paints,
and in it I daily toil.
With my camera in hand
at other times,
I let live
Yahweh’s art
out loud!

Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are al the work of your hand. ~Isaiah 64:8 ✝
**I took all these photos of flowers blooming in my yard.

Beautiful art you’ve created here Natalie with the photos, quotes and poems. I totally agree that nature a master artist with our gardens being beautiful canvases.
Nature is my muse, healer and art. To beauty in our hearts, homes and gardens.

Here, here, Brad. I love your line about nature being your muse, your healer, and your art. I feel the same way. My garden is where I reconnected with the Lord after a long derailment in my faith journey. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Natalie, you have a wonderfully green thumb. Your garden must be a wonderful place to sit and enjoy. I wish I could join you there. You also still find the best quotes, and I agree with Julie about the one from that Scarberry girl.

Thank you, Angie. Most of the time it’s just dirt colored though especially after all this rain. My garden is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy and I wish you could come visit too. You would certainly be welcome. 🙂 ❤

Today I bought a sage seedling to pot and add to my window garden, only to find when I got home that my cleaning lady has hidden my potting soil so effectively it seems to be invisible. It is now in some water, just a tiny bit, and waiting now for her to return my call and let me know where the soil is, or for me to buy another bag, depending on weather conditions tomorrow. I’m not sure how much longer I can afford her, when she throws everything I have away.

I’m so sorry she hid or even worse may have thrown it away. Bless your heart. 🙂 ❤

Your garden is a treat LMS, an explosion of colour. A new group of Wallabies turned up today and checked out the new rose garden. They aren’t impressed by the thorns.

Thanks, Sir L. It’s certainly an oasis for me. Do you know that my daughter has two sheep and when my grandson comes to visit and work with me in the garden I let him take home all the yard debris we gather that day. And sometimes there are rose cuttings in it and those darn sheep eat them thorns and all. Simply amazing. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Happiness is your own oasis LMS. I can believe that the sheep would eat the clippings, they are related to goats. Do they have the sheep shorn? I used to have sheep years ago.

It is my happy oasis for sure, Sir L. No they haven’t had them shorn and interesting enough to self shore during the summer by rubbing up against the fences and the trees. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤
