Summer makes a
silence after spring.
~Vita Sackville-West
Tomorrow is the summer solstice, and with its coming begins the worst of another long, hot Texas summer. Thus the silence after spring hereabouts is markedly pronounced as the heat all but stifles the breath out of anything that talks, hums, or buzzes including and especially “moi.” That’s why when I have to be outside to care for and attempt to keep my garden’s “babies” alive, the heat presses hard enough against my lips that what utterances I can muster are mostly profane mutterings. So not only am I thankful to be leaving for Paris next week but also that we’ll be spending 16 days in far more pleasant climes.
…give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. ~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18 ✝

Love the ‘wabbit’. Yes it is getting hot and with the onset of summer will be a lot hotter as the days go by. I do envy you getting away from it for a little bit of the summer. Then again, your area stays hotter than mine so you won’t miss out of much of the heat.

I did too. That’s why I just had to build a post around the guy! Love the light coming through its big ears!
But I’ll have to come back to the heat sooner or later.
Oh well, the break will be nice for sure! Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

I could tolerate the heat better if it wasn’t so humid here. The air is so heavy and smothering. I hope you will have a wonderful trip!

My church decided to have a yard sale today. The head index was over 100. Usually the heat doesn’t bother me much, but we were all ready to call it quits at 1:30. We wont try that again until maybe October. But it sure made me appreciate the occasional soft breezes and ice water, and a shower, things I normally take for granted. Bon Voyage!

Oh, my JoAnne, I just hate it when it gets that hot. And I would definitely wait on that next yard sale until October. Yes, that dreadful heat makes me so very thankful for AC and I praise the Lord regularly for inspiring someone to invent air-conditioning. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Ah, Paris. I hope you have a wonderful, cool time there Natalie. Find a quiet spot in one of pleasant parks, or better still, in the Louvre, and just spend several hours drinking in all of the serenity you can find there. Bless you Natalie.
