848. Oh what a beautiful morning…the sounds of earth are like music. ~Excerpted lyrics from a song written by George and Ira Gershwin

When you arise in the morning,
think of what a privilege it is to be alive –
to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.

Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness…Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. ~Psalm 150:1-2, 6  ✝

    • Oh man would I love to wake up to the sound of rain. It’s been soooooooooooo long since we’ve had a storm like that and I miss the rain so much when it is gone that long. I’m so glad you got some and that it made a nice change in the nasty heat. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

  1. “Morning has broken, like the first morning” I like Gershwin, but I also like, goodness, was it Fogelberg who wrote this one? I sang this one in church many many Sunday mornings, when I had a voice that worked. I still sing it here, because as my pastor told me, God created canary’s and He also created crows, and He deserves to hear them both sing. I also still get a chuckle from that memory.
Wonderful post, bringing back so many beautiful memories. Thank you Natalie. A.

      • I had a passable voice at one time, but age, allergies and time have not been kind. Mostly age, I’m afraid. I was one step above the crow, now a step beneath it. And there are birds that sound worse than crows, I miss that pastor. He passed away so many years ago, but was so wise. Love and Hugs, A.

  2. Lovely.
Being alive is the first blessing of every day. Our job is to be aware of this and be aware of all the others that follow throughout the day. Have a great week 🙂
