In the morning the blue heron is busy
stepping, slowly, around the edge of the
pond. He is tall and shining. His wings, folded
against his body, fit so neatly they
make of him, when he lifts his shoulders and begins to rise
into the air, a great surprise. Also
he carries so light the terrible sword-beak.
Then he is gone over the trees.

  7. This is beautiful Natalie. I’ve never read that poem before, and I love it. I think if I printed out everything on your posts I would have to buy stock in the printer company and the ink cartridge company, just to try to recoup some of the $$$ I would spend on the ink. Then there would be the rain forest they would have to cut down for the paper. ((Hugs)) A.

      • I love it when I can snap a pic of them LMS. Missed out on getting a visiting Brolga the other day. They’re a large stork like bird from northern Australia. I always like your posts. ❤ 🙂

      • It would have to be a good one LMS, if it’s not right I delete them. 🙂 I believe the Brolgas are native to here. Impressive bird, I’ve snapped one in a zoo though. It’s heartening to know that you enjoy my posts. Love’ n Hugs
