Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Halleeelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Halleeelujah
~From Handel’s Messiah
by Georg Friedrich Händel
To one who has long been in the throes of confining heat,
‘tis very sweet to look into the fair and open face of heaven–
to breathe a prayer full in the smile of the blue firmament.
~Adapted excerpt by John Keats
Okay, so I realize I’m probably committing some heinous sacrilege with these revered excerpts as they relate to my topic, but there is just no better or more accurate way to describe how I feel about what was outside my door this morning. I’d long waited and waited for it, I’d long prayed and prayed for it, and I’d long shed tears over its delay. But now at long last today it has arrived. So when I opened the door and felt that first autumn chill in the air, there was simply nothing else I could do but joyfully and thankfully throw my arms up and break into a hallelujah chorus. And it didn’t matter whether it was my own “couldn’t-carry-a-tune-in-a-bucket” rendition, a squirrel’s rendition, or an opera star’s rendition! But my shamefulness didn’t just end there. It got worse! For on the heels of the hallelujah chorus I then emitted a most diabolic and wrongfully wicked laugh at the thought of the “Heat Monster’s” impending and hopefully terrible demise! Yes, folks I am apparently a complete degenerate, but I could not help myself then nor now. So praise the Lord and hallelujah that autumn is finally throwing off her meekness and moving full throttle into this wretched place. I feel like an incarcerated prisoner who has been set free and instead of having the breath sucked out of me by suffocating and prolonged mugginess, thank you, God that I can once again “breathe a prayer full in the smile of the blue” and cool “firmament!”
Relieve the troubles of my heart and free me from anguish. ~Psalm 25:17 ✝

He does, doesn’t he?! Oh, Julie, it is ever so delightful and welcome. I don’t know why this summer it seemed so much worse, but it did. And you are always welcome for the reblogs. Since you are getting 50+ readings when I do, there are more people who are being blessed by your marvelous messages! So woooooooohoooooo to fall it is, my friend. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

You would hate it here right now. We are only in Spring and our temps are up in the 90s. Almost 100 even. And we dob’t have air conditioning. Just a fan. I am used to it now.

Thanks, Staci. It was just a bit of fluff and my silliness. Oh no, I wouldn’t like it there. I’m soooooooo glad our summer is OVER!!! I can’t imagine doing it without airconditioning like you do. Love, N 🙂 ❤

Hahaha. It’s fun to be silly sometimes. Good for you. I guess I lived in Rio de Janeiro or up north I would probably die from the heat, but here is pretty temperate (so to speak) for the tropics. 100 degrees is a bit much though. Right now it’s 93 or so. My fan is my best friend during the Spring and Summer here.

I loved this, especially that first pic. 🙂 I feel that way every time there is a temp drop here. I do hope that fall is really moving in for you there.

Oh, V, and it’s not a minute too soon either. Summer is always such a horrible ordeal for me and this one seemed worse for some reason. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

I am happy for you, Natalie. Easier breathing, less sweltering temps. . . I like the heat, even when very hot in warehouse. My muscles “ache” more in cool or cold temps. I scrunch up my neck and don’t keep my shoulders back and straight in the cold.
I enjoy the colors of fall and children happy for candy apples or hot cocoa. 🙂 Alleluia, celebrating fo those who wish to see summer put the door till next year. 🙂

Thank you, Robin. I’m so happy for me too. I’m glad you like the heat. I’ve always hated it and the older I get the more I hate it. I’m sorry that the cooler weather makes life harder for you. Thanks for celebrating for me in spite of your dislike of it. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

The photo of that squirrel depicts nothing short of joy, Natalie. It’s finally fall here, too; lovely leaves swaying in the cool breeze. I’ve had my windows open all morning. Oh, happy, happy Autumn! 😀

I thought so too, Susan! I’m so glad autumn has come for you too. We have no pretty leaves yet, but I’m elated for the cooler days and nights. And we have a chance for rain later in the week for the first time in over 3 months. I pray you have a wonderful Autumn! Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Love that photo of the squirrel and I imagine it would be nice to feel some cool air. We are going into summer but it is still cool, but we are expecting a severe El Nino weather pattern – a long hot dry summer.

Well, hello, Raewyn. It’s so good to have you back. Your photos tonight were outstanding. I do hope your summer is not too long and hot. It was a miserable one here that’s for sure. Hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Natalie, you made me smile for your fun post and the good news you’re now experiencing true autumn. ❤ This past summer was a hot one here too–but still nothing compared to what you must have put up with.

Oh it seemed even worse than usual here, but in reality we have had worse, much worse, summers, Wendy. I’ve always hated the heat and the older I get the more I hate it it seems. Now in the next couple of days, we may actually get some rain for the first time in over three momths. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤
