Memory is a way of holding onto
the things we love,
the things we are,
the things we never want to lose.

The Coin
Into my heart’s treasury
I slipped a coin
That time cannot take
Nor a thief purloin, —
Oh better than the minting
Of a gold-crowned king
Is the safe-kept memory
Of a lovely thing.
~Sara Teasdale

A million feelings.

Thank you, Julie. It took a while to find the photos and put it all together. But I enjoyed doing it as it brought back such wonderful memories. I love the way you described it. It was a woven mosaic. All our lives are just exactly that. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Thank you, Denise. Everything we’ve experienced in our lives makes us who and what we are, and I think we need to share those things so that people have a better understanding of us and what makes us tick so to speak. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Thanks, JoAnna. It just seemed to fit with my descriptions lately of people as composites of all that they have experienced and endured. It’s like exposing our secret selves so that people can keep from judging us based on only what they can see.
And I hate it when someone does that to me, and it has happened a lot in my life. Love and hugs, N 🙂 ❤

Each set had such relevance for you but also triggered my own treasure chest of memories. This is the gift of a writer, poet and person with a warm, loving heart. You opened and shared your “coins” with us. I like the idea of the woven mosaic Julie mentioned.
Honestly, the photos reminded me of quilting squares. I was thinking of a patch work quilt because each of us has frayed edges, missing stitches but together we blend patterns, side by side, creating a quilt. Hugs, Robin

Thank you, Theresa. That’s sweet. They don’t mean much to anyone but me, but I couldn’t think of anything better to use for that poet. 🙂 ❤

So many memories! So little time!
Been thinking a lot about my mom lately. I hope she was happy as she made many other feel happy. She always felt for the person who seemed most troubled. Those were the people she would ask me about.
Never knew Johnny Mathis sang this song. Absolutely beautiful! The people who posted it on YouTube though, need to change the title: it’s “THE Way We Were.”
Thank you, Natalie, for ALL this!
Peace, love & great memories for all,
Sherrie
