Wisdom and Compassion
We are not separate from each other or from God.
Wisdom is the recognition of this fact,
and compassion is the practice of it.~ Laurence Freeman

1312. Trees are the earth’s endless effort to speak to the listening heaven. ~Rabindranath Tagore
And this, our life, exempt from public haunt,
finds tongues in trees, books in the running brooks,
sermons in stones, and good in everything.
~William Shakespeare
When I am among the trees,
especially the willows and the honey locust,
equally the beech, the oaks and the pines,
they give off such hints of gladness.
I would almost say that they save me, and daily.
I am so distant from the hope of myself,
in which I have goodness, and discernment,
and never hurry through the world
but walk slowly, and bow often.
Around me the trees stir in their leaves
and call out, “Stay awhile.”
The light flows from their branches.
And they call again, “It’s simple,” they say,
“and you too have come
into the world to do this, to go easy, to be filled
with light, and to shine.”
~Mary Oliver
The Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground—trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. ~Excerpt from Genesis 2:9 ✝
As I live each day…
“As I live each day…may I make a difference and touch one heart..
each day it is my goal to bring smiles and laughter into a soul,
love, peace and happiness to all.”
– Norris C Scott
