While Chaos Looms

While chaos looms and swirls above
and all seems hopeless now,
the Lord has your heart in His hands
and to you makes these vows:
As He gives power to the weak,
He strengthens those who trust.
The hopeful soar on eagles’ wings
And walk with Humblest.1
“I give you plans for peace,” says God,
“and future filled with hope.”
He guards you from forthcoming harm
and helps you now to cope. 2
Christ gives you rest when burdened most;
He knows your loads and trials
and wants to swap your weight for His,
the lightest of them all. 3
He wants to reassure and claim
that you are not alone.
While you can’t do it by yourself,
the Spirit’s strength be known. 4
And even as all this is true,
Christ gives you peace of mind.
He takes your worries far away;
in you His peace enshrined.

1391. The stillness of the early morning scene enables me to take in and enjoy many things which pass me by during the bustle of the day. ~Rosemary Verey
Morning is the best of all times
in the garden. The sun is not yet hot.
Sweet vapors rise from the earth.
Night dew clings to the soil
and makes plants glisten. Birds call to
one another. Bees are already at work.
~William Longgood

A Morning Offering
I bless the night that nourished my heart
To set the ghosts of longing free
Into the flow and figure of dream
That went to harvest from the dark
Bread for the hunger no one sees.

All that is eternal in me
Welcome the wonder of this day,
The field of brightness it creates
Offering time for each thing
To arise and illuminate.

I place on the altar of dawn:
The quiet loyalty of breath,
The tent of thought where I shelter,
Wave of desire I am shore to
And all beauty drawn to the eye.

May my mind come alive today
To the invisible geography
That invites me to new frontiers,
To break the dead shell of yesterdays,
To risk being disturbed and changed.

May I have the courage today
To live the life that I would love,
To postpone my dream no longer
But do at last what I came here for
And waste my heart on fear no more.
~John O’Donohue
Lord, be gracious to us; we long for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation in time of distress. ~Isaiah 33:2 ✝

Orchestra of life
In this vast cosmic orchestra, peace is the music of every heart. Our happiness lies in understanding, listening and honoring that music. Amit Ray
If life is an orchestra, then what instrument have you found that expresses the music of your heart?
Over time, I have learned which are not my instruments in life and I have tried a few of them! Sometimes I have convinced myself I should play instruments that don’t suit me, or that I believe others would want me to play, but that has never brought me peace or happiness.
Being in an orchestra means we are apart of the entire music piece and each of us has a gift to play our part well, so that the music flows easily and sounds beautiful.
I have learned that no matter where I go in life, I am still apart of this orchestra and each decision I…
