Spring has returned.
The Earth is like a child
that knows poems.
~Rainer Maria Rilke
But where did spring come from? Was it here?Or here?
Perhaps it was here? Can you see it here?
Was it hiding here?
Did it just leave never to return?
Why do we even believe it will come again? Just because someone older than we has seen it before and says that it will? And someone before him or her had done and said the same? Do we believe everything others tell us? And then even if that’s true what’s the spark that creates the phenomena and sets it all in motion?
What makes something like this spring up
from what seems like nothingness?Or this?
Where does this beauty come from?
Is there a grand plan for something like this?
Who could make something like this?
Can you make one of these?
Not grow it. Not graft it. Not clone it. Not start it from seed.
Just create it from scratch?
Is there a purpose for this?
Is this really necessary?
Why and where does this come?
Who could be responsible for something this exquisite?
Perhaps it’s time to watch the seasons as they pass over the fields, to be still and quieted, to look and listen, to wonder and question, to consider grand divine design and not random happenstance! Maybe then when the dark nights of the soul come, and they will come again and again, and you’re experiencing more anquish than you think you can bear and have little to no hope left, you’ll be ready to meet the Holy One who has and is the only feasible answer to these questions. Then out of gratitude you might even consider inviting Him into your world. He already knows who you are and He will welcome you back into His arms no matter where you”ve been or what you’ve done or not done.
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. ~Romans 1:20 ✝

Oh, Sweet Natalie! How true, and how many times I put it all in His Hands, rest on my laurels and then unceremoniously try to snatch it all back again! AH! Not even the small faith of a mustard seed! But I keep trying. Keep handing it back to Him while gazing at the everlasting glory of His creation, praying the day will arrive soon when I will have the courage of my convictions, when I will finally give it all to His loving care, and when I will love each season as it comes as His gift to me..
You are on my mind and in my heart and my prayers, Sister of my Soul.

Playing catch-up tonight, Sis. I know how easy it is to surrender, but I also know I have this stubborn area inside my brain that makes me want to be in charge of my world, so almost before the prayer has left my lips I’m trying to take charge again! My constant battle — my constant cross! I WILL win this battle though. ❤ ❤
