Oh I absolutely love this quote. My husband is persian so we are very familiar with Omar Khyams work. It’s wonderful because I myself am Buddhist and this fits my own philosophy perfectly too. We cannot go back to touch or change the past so it’s really pointless dwelling or wasting precious energy on it. The future hasn’t happened yet and may not even arrive so no point fearing it. The present is really all we have. Thank you for sharing this. Best wishes julie
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I had to memorize passages from this work when I was in school and five decades later I still remember and frequently quote this one because both fit my Christian faith:
“The Moving Finger writes; and, having writ,
Moves on: nor all thy Piety nor Wit
Shall lure it back to cancel half a Line,
Nor all thy Tears wash out a Word of it.”😊❤️
