I wondered if you mean that ‘they don’t have to pay for their mistakes for the rest of their lives’ in the sense that God forgives the one who repents and asks for forgiveness. I agree wholeheartedly. However, consequences for bad choices can and often do last for a lifetime. David is a good example.
