“I think those are very wrong who say that schoolboys should be encouraged
to read the newspapers.
Nearly all that a boy reads there in his teens will be known
before he is twenty to have been false in emphasis and interpretation,
if not in fact as well, and most of it will have lost all importance.
Most of what he remembers he will therefore have to unlearn;

Thank you Natalie—and thank you for such a gracious compliment…in order to have been an English teacher, I would have needed to have a better sense of spelling as well as grammar usage—I don’t know a participle, dangling or not, from the proper use of commas…as in commas are too much my friend 🙂

Thanks for an early morning chuckle my friend. You do well when you write in your blog. Before I started teaching I worked at an insurance company and once when I was promoted to supervise a different department than the one I was I told him that I didn’t know enough about it to do a good job. He told me too just dazzle them with footwork until i learned. And that has worked many a time since. I wasn’t the best grammarian either but I worked with teachers who were so I’d go to them for help and I learned. Love and hugs, N 😊❤️❌⭕️

I had many a principal who told me they thought I was an English teacher and a far cry from and art teacher…but I did learn truly to dazzle until I could master something—a “never let them see you sweat” sort of thing… 🙂
so for now I embrace my typos as auto correct does as much harm as my own ignorance 🙂
