There is the…

This doesn’t apply just to me. There are countless others out there for whom this is a debilittating reality, and though there are those of you who are not the unfortunate victims of chronic pain, this kind of darkness and suffering is beyond belief for many. And it is easy to dismiss its reality and/or intensity because it can’t be seen and/or felt by others. It is nonetheless a very cruel reality for those whose lot in life is to bear it, and it’s time there be an awareness of its victims, not trite sympathy nor pity for them, but awareness, understanding, and acceptance The fact that distant and different are our words when in the throes of endless bouts of angoninizng pain, means not that we don’t care about others, it simply means our focus has turned inward while we try to hang on and cope. 1. So very true for many. We were told as Greaters not to judge people’s needs for a chair but to help all find one. What got me, one evening one of my grandsons came in to get some pain meds for a banged up knee from playing football. I gently told another lady that wouldn’t let him have one what had happened while I brought him one from the other door. She judged him because of his age. 😦

  2. Words cannot be found sometimes and your energy has to go inwards. Love holds that space and those that understand do not take it personally, nor feel the need to stand in judgment. ❤ for you lovely Natalie ❤

  4. I am so sorry for your pain, Natalie. I watched my son in terrible pain and it completely broke my heart. I could do nothing but be there for him.
John O’Donohue’s quote says it all, words are distant and different from the actual suffering.
You have been such a blessing to me in my time of grief.
I’m sending lots of love and prayers your way.
    Love Ally xxx
