You might like Christopher Alexander’s later works on the “Nature of Beauty” – he claimed that if you asked people what they liked or what they thought was pretty, you would get different answers from people in different cultures — BUT if you asked, “which of these resonates with your soul” answers were much more consistent across cultures.
