K-bam fell the…

K-bam fell the other shoe when the bone biopsy report came in. And the name it bore was as alarming as its reality–Myelodysplastic syndrome, pre-leukemia. And the course of recommended treatment by my current oncologist is for transfusions and chemotherapy for this MDS which is a bone marrow failure where the body no longer makes enough healthy, normal blood cells in the bone marrow and if left untreated will progress to acute myeloid leukemia. So today because my hemoglobin had dropped to 5.6, I received two units of blood and tomorrow will be administered the third to get my count up to at least 8. And now tonight that our heads are not swimming quite so full of shock and apprehension about this diagnosis, we think perhaps we should get a second opinion as there are some discrepancies between what we have been told by our oncologist/hematologist and some data we’ve read on the internet. In the meantime I’ve also been reading up on all the foods that one needs to be eating to help promote healthy bone growth because I know that the Lord is not ready to bring me home just yet, or I wouldn’t even be relating this tale. So I will press forward in hopes He still has plans for my life knowing that He is still as in charge of all that happens as He has always been. So don’t count me gone just yet!!!

Promise #279:
I have chosen you to be a royal priesthood and a holy nation.
1 Peter 2:9 (WEB)
But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,
a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him
who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

the Lord and hallelujah; the bone marrow biopsy and the endoscopy/colonoscopy have been completed! Now the waiting for the results begins. Your prayers and well wishes have helped me get through these difficult days, and of course the Lord’s deliverance of strength needed for each day as well as His repeated admonishments to fear and worry not for He will uphold me with His Righteous Right Hand are the fuel that keeps me able to keep putting one foot in front of the other in faith!
