“If a person seems wicked, do not cast him away.
Awaken him with your words, elevate him with your deeds,
repay his injury with your kindness.
Do not cast him away; cast away his wickedness.”

We are supposed to pray for and forgive those who wrong us. Sometimes that is hard for us to do but that is a part of our Lord’s teaching. Forgiving them doesn’t heal them, it heals us.

Pray for him, speak words of kindness, and be a good example. But if he (or she) continues to be hurtful, don’t linger. Protect yourself from harm. Walk away and shake the dust from your feet.
